About
Hello, I am Caroline Wallace! I live in Washington, DC and graduated with a BFA in Art Education from the University of South Carolina. I taught visual art for five years at the elementary level. My personal favorite art mediums are film photography, oil paint, oil pastels, and mixed media works.

As an art educator, I believe in fostering a welcoming environment for all students. It is essential that each student can freely express themselves through art. My personal philosophy of teaching is to create a working space that is inclusive to all, is open to new ideas, is empathetic, and is relatable to the lives of each student. Diversity, community, and world art are staples within my classroom.

I have taken a pause in teaching full-time to pursue an MS in counseling with a concentration of art therapy, and to explore other avenues of art skills. This website not only highlights my personal artwork, but is a connection to my art teaching, and hopefully the continuation and growth of my professional career. My experiences will be documented here as well as my students' works. I hope to show growth as an artist, teacher, and professional.

Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.
